Monopoly is my fav board game of all time. I challenge anyone, I can’t be beat. But wow, I am really excited about this. Google has teamed up with Hasbro to create an online version of Monopoly. It uses the Google Maps as a board so players can choose from millions of streets around the world to buy. The online version will be the same as the traditional board game but players will be able to build football stadiums and skyscrapers as well as the usual houses and hotels. Players can use MONOPOLY Chance Cards to sabotage your mates by building Hazards on their streets. Monopoly City Streets also give players the change to build prisons and rubbish dumps on their rivals’ streets. The only major difference in this version is that the object is to be the richest person both property and money wise by Jan 31st 2010. It launched on September 9 so you can check it out now. I did notice when I jumped on to play, that a good amount of streets are already bought up and built on which kinda blows. All in all it does look Sick!
Major deal went down in Hollywood yesterday! The Walt Disney Company has purchased Marvel Entertainment Inc. for $4 billion in cash and stock!!!! Wow. Disney now owns the catalogue of 5,000 Marvel characters, including Fantastic Four and X-Men just to name a few. The big wigs over at Mickey Mouse’s house hope that by owning the comic book characters, Disney will now appeal to a larger audience other than tween girls obsessed with Miley Cyrus and the JoBros. Disney CEO Robert Iger believes the combination of Marvel’s “strong global brand and world-renowned library of characters” will go along smashlingly with Disney’s “unparalleled global portfolio of entertainment properties.
I think Marvel just died. I can only imagine what the next set of Marvel movies will be like.
Young Nicholi Favs makes web videos. Not so unique! But he shoots and uploads all of them in the 5th Ave Apple Store in NYC. OK, that’s a bit more original. Nicholi has made boatloads of lip sync videos at the store, and it’s funny to see people milling around behind him and wondering just what the hell he’s up to. Hey, you’ve gotta admire his boldness. Personally I love this kid. The complete lack of care as to what is going on behind him, just making his video and enjoying life. Keep it up kid, you make me smile.
Check out his library of videos here
