I have been a busy little beaver lately, and with that have had time to make sure good posts go up but thats about it. The site looks great as far as I am concerned, but I have decided to do a few changes an vamp stuff up a bit. Over the next few weeks you will see lots of new things, everything from a newish logo to share buttons and many things in between. Get excited because TOAL 3.0 is ready to go. I though id give you a sneak peak at what will not only be the newish face of TOAL but another future sticker. Drop added some details on the pre existing cartoon head of mine, and I think they look great. My hair is longer now, a lot longer so I wanted to keep it as real to me as possible. From the moment I heard the intro song to “Wheels Of Fire” I was hooked. It remains today as one of my favourite songs. Performed by 19 time german skateboarder champion Claus Grabke and his band “Eight Dayz”, the song “whats so really strange about me” is an underground punk classic. Jim Phillips who was the creative art director at Santa Cruz at the time, created the infamous exploding clock graphic for Grabke. Once again choosing a graphic from the beginning, and making a few small changes the famous Grabke graphic is the 2nd shirt of the Skate Or Lie pack. Naming this one “TTAL or Time Tells All Lies”, this is my favourite of the 2 shirts.
Pre-order it right now in the shop, but again waiting isn’t recommended. This shirt is getting a lot of attention and if the other pre-orders are any indication, this shirt will be gone gone gone.
My first skateboard ever was Per Welinder’s Powell & Peralta “Nordic Skull”. I purchased the skateboard in a skate shop in Maine over the summer holidays. I was instantly pulled in by it’s graphic and long nose. Not knowing much about skateboarding at the time, I was unaware of the fact that Per Welinder was a very successful swedish freestyle skater. So much in fact that Welinder had a both a street and freestyle pro model. I chose this Graphic to be apart of my Skate Or Lie shirts because of its iconic image, but also because it brings me back to the beginning. A few detail changes have been made to modernize it a bit, and of course the runic font spells Truth of a Liar vs Per Welinder. I really love the look of this shirt, which I am calling “Nordic Liar”. Drop did exactly what I asked for in re-producing this image from the 80′s, and I couldn’t be more happier with it.

Working closely once again with my friend and partner Drop for the 1 year anniversary of the blog, we came up with the soon to be available “Skate Or Lie” Pack. Here is your first sneak peak at the upcoming Truth of a Liar shirts and hat set to launch. I can tell you now from the feedback I have received from the people that have seen the actual stuff already, these are going to be quick sells!! I am so stoked, June 1st can’t come fast enough. I will unveil 1 shirt design officially on the following dates, May 12th, 19th and finally on the 26th I will show you the hat. The shirts and hat will go up for pre-order in the shop as they are revealed, and will go on sale at midnight on the 5th after the Sub-V event.

So my man DROP hooked it up again, and this time I don’t have words. It’s like this dude is in my head. I just tell him and idea, and he creates it as if it was by my hand. The sign of a true artist. I am so lucky to have him as a friend and partner.
So with the worlds biggest rapper about to do some time in the slammer beginning next Tuesday, Truth of a Liar decided to show him a little love. The “FREEZY” is once again a very limited shirt release. I am officially taking pre-orders with the shirt to be available in a few weeks. When I say “limited”, I mean it. I am making 50 and thats it. These will sell out fast, DON’T sleep!!
So as few have seen but a lot of you have heard, my first limited shirt designed by my boy Drop was set to release first of the month for Truth of a Liar. I was so excited I ended up releasing it early haha. I have printed up 75 of these shirts I have dubbed “Black Metal Liar”. The shop is up and running, and the T-Shirt is available to purchase now for $30.00 CND + $6.50 S&H. Once orders are placed I will ship out to you within 48hrs.
I just wanted to say this is all coming together for me. A dream I always had was to have a blog and put out limited stuff. This dream is becoming a reality finally. I want to make it clear to all that this is and will remain a blog first and foremost. Any shirts or accessories (I have a few cool things in the works) I put out will be on a limited basis and once they are sold out will never be reproduced again. I may do a new shirt every few months or every 6 months, I haven’t really decided yet. I guess it will be all based on your response! Once again I just want to thank Drop, this shirt could not be possible without you’re amazing talent bro.

I have been checkin out a lot of artists lately, as I am getting ready to design a few limited shirts for TOAL over the next few months. With so much talent out there I wanted to make sure I did it right. As always my boy Mike Jones from Mishka will be involved in a future shirt design. I cant get enuff of his art, and he created the original TOAL logo. One artist that I have been really into is this dude Thomas aka Drop. Living in Frankfurt Germany Drop is a student at Visual Arts Academy their. His designs of faces are way sick, and thats what first caught my eye to begin with. Below are just a few examples of my favs that he has done. If you are looking to get some art work of any kind, you should definitely check him out. There is nothing better than dealing with someone who is a hard worker, an honest dude and real as fuck. Im hoping my peeps at Wemoto commision him for a design or two for their upcoming 2010 lines. After a lot of emails back and forth Im happy to announce that Truth of a Liar has collaborated with Drop for the first shirt. I got the the final design back yesterday and it’s fuckin incredible, Im really excited about it and working with Drop. I won’t give to much away yet, but you are going to “LOVE” the Truth of a Liar T-shirt! Keep watch, this shirt will be dropping middle February, and will have a very very limited run.
