Steampunk Stormtrooper Helmet

This steampunk stormtrooper helmet is made by Brain Rood. Obviously, it can be seen from the blog of the creator that he is a lover of stormtrooper helmets. You can see many unique modifications of stormtrooper helmets from Star Wars. But I prefer the latest one, which has a bronze appearance with many steampunk accessories, which make the helmet look like from post-holocaust instead of outer space. I want to get a helmet for chatroullete hahaha.

Holy Bantha Pudu, Batman!

It’s Batman. With a lightsaber. Fighting a shark. Don’t ask why this is happening. It just is. This tableau is pure id. I want this image to flash before my eyelids before I fall asleep each night.

Double Brutal

Double Brutal the second full length album from Austrian Death Machine is here!! Musically, Austrian Death Machine is jarringly heavy, not unlike As I Lay Dying, but without the the metalcore manuerisms that often sully Lambesis’ main band. Thrashy, up-tempo numbers like “Let off Some Steam Bennet” are loaded with triplets and heavy transitions, while “Who Told You You Could Eat My Cookies” and “Allow Me To Break the Ice” follow a similar pattern. The second disc has some surprisingly fun covers, especially of Judas Priest’s “Hell Bent For Leather” and Megadeth’s “Killing Is My Business…and Business Is Good.” Metallica’s “Trapped Under the Ice” and Motorhead’s “Iron Fist” get the cover treatment to a similar degree with “Ahhnold’s” voice adding some comical color. Regardless this is another must have, and I bet you Dayne is running out as we speak to get it hahah.

Daft Punk Helmets

Everyone knows my love for Daft Punk, so it doesn’t get much more legit than this!! Harrison Krix: the professional prop creator was commissioned by Daft Punk to replicate a gold helmet and outlines the entire process here. For real, if someone was to buy me one for let’s say Christmas, I might loose my mind. Just sayin…

Shepard Fairey x Glen E. Friedman x Jim Muir

Shepard Fairey and Glen E. Friedman collaborate on this special edition Obey Giant print in support of Jim Muir, founder of the now legendary Dogtown skateboards. Muir was recently injured in a surfing accident and a percentage of the proceeds gained from this sick new print will be put towards his medical bills. Limited to 450, and signed by all three guys, the print went on sale November 19. You can get yours here. But don’t sleep, there aren’t a lot left.

The Warriors

Im going to keep this one short and sweet. This is one of those hidden gems you hear about and absolutely must own for so many reasons. It’s one of the first gang movies ever. It was made into a hugely popular video game by the Rockstar, the people behind the Grand Theft Auto series. It’s being remade presently and going to be rereleased in 2010 by famed director Tony Scott. Rumor has it, quite a few big names are signed up for this project. Warriors is based on the 1965 novel by Sol Yurick, the cult action/thriller film was directed by Walter Hill in 1979. On a side note if you’re a fan of Dexter, James Remar the guy who plays Harry is one of the Warriors. Its awesome to see him play his role as Ajax, cause he is like 19 in the movie and a bad ass hahah.

I have seen this movie as many times as I have seen Star Wars. 98746731826438746 at least hahah. Seriously though, amazing movie. Warriors……come out and plaYYaaaaaaaaa…..

Almost Famous

One of my favorite movies to come home too after touring with bands was always Almost Famous. It had this way of making me feel like I was back on the road. I would always watch and wish one thing tho, that I was touring in the 70′s. This movie is so fuckin cool.

Almost Famous is a comedy-drama film written and directed by Cameron Crowe and telling the fictional story of a teenage journalist writing for Rolling Stone magazine while covering a rock band Stillwater, and his efforts to get his first cover story published. The film is semi-autobiographical, as Crowe himself was a teenage writer for Rolling Stone. The film is based on Crowe’s experiences touring with rock bands The Allman Brothers Band, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. In a Rolling Stone article, he talks about how he lost his virginity, fell in love, and met his heroes, experiences that are shared by William, the main character in the film. Despite being a box office bomb, the film received good reviews. It received four Oscar nominations, one of which led to an award to Crowe for his screenplay. It was also awarded the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media. Roger Ebert hailed it the best film of the year. It also won two Golden Globes, for Best Picture and Kate Hudson won Best Supporting Actress.

Its coming out on Blu Ray soon, and I suggest you go pick it up.

Major lazer

I’ve talked about Major Lazer before on this blog but I simply cannot tell you how excited this latest megamix of Major Lazer material makes me. I haven’t been this hyped on an album release since Justice’s “Cross”. Just listen to the beginning where Switch and Diplo turn a baby crying into a mean ass dancehall beat. And then at the 2 minute mark! My GOD! Maybe you’re close minded and can’t get your head around a white kid from Phili and a white dude from England making a weird sounding dancehall album, but that is just what we need. Major labels and companies are already jumping on the electro bandwagon and everyone who’s been there and done that is now wondering “what’s next?” I don’t think clubbed up dancehall is necessarily the next big thing but Major Lazer are doing something a lot of people aren’t. Being original.

This is a MUST HAVE, so iTunes that shit asap. It is seriously the best shit I have heard in a long time.

Judgement Night

Judgment Night is a 1993 action thriller film starring Emilio Estévez, Cuba Gooding Jr, Jeremy Piven and Stephen Dorff as a group of friends on the run from a group of criminals (led by Denis Leary & Everlast) after they witness a murder. Now the movie is good and you should definitely cop it you don’t already own it. But the real treat is the soundtrack to this movie. Remember when Anthrax collaborated with Public Enemy to create one of the first rap/rock songs “Bring The Noise”? Well every song on the soundtrack for Judgment Night was a collaboration between hip-hop artists and rock artists.

Amazing collabs between artist like Helmet & House of Pain, Biohazard & Onyx, Teenage Fanclub & De La Soul and Faith No More & Boo Yah Tribe really stuck out. The Soundtrack was produced by many of the album’s performers. The album peaked at #17 on the Billboard 200 and spawned three singles.

This soundtrack is probally a hard find, but if you can track it down dont sleep.

A Day To Remember

It would be almost too easy and obvious to describe my fav band and friends A Day To Remember as the creators of one of the most unforgettable albums of 2007, but that wouldn’t make it any less true. It had a huge impact on me that year. Well ADTR have done it again with Homesick, their 2009 release and “AP Magazine Most Anticipated Album Of 09″. Hailing from Ocala, Florida, the five members of A Day To Remember have crafted a unique blend of what can best be called “pop-mosh”, a potent combination of ultra high energy and tart sweet melodies. You can hear the melodic chaos in its full glory on For Those Who Have Heart, their debut album on Victory Records, and Homesick the most badass chart topping CD from them yet!

Although this album has been out since the spring, if you don’t have it yet you are way out of the loop.
