Virginia Beach Virginia is a premier East Coast vacation spot that offers visitors the opportunity to soak in the sweet Southern sunshine and play in the fantastic surf. That isn’t the reason I love it here so much though, true love was born here. Anyways I got an invite from some friends I have that live up in VA to come hangout for the Memorial day weekend. I literally grabbed my suitcase got a ticket and headed to the airport. Everyone chipped in to rent a beach front house for 4 days, not cheap but well fucking worth it. I am a beach person through and though, so from the minute I touched down in Norfolk all I wanted to do was get to the house, drop my shit and hit the sand. My friend David who is a VA based photographer was one of the guys I was hanging with. I met David through my best friend Jerry last year when I went to VA. I recently hooked David up with Drop for his new website logo which came out sick. Blah blah blah, moving on. I was lucky this trip, the guys let me being the tourist do pretty much whatever I wanted, from eating at Doc Taylors a few times, to just being alone on the beach. I was happy walking in the sand and relaxing by the pier. I felt most comfortable alone in my thoughts than with the guys, and they knew that and were really cool about it. When I was with them all, it was always with David, Deanna and Jimmy. Raddest dudes ever. I had 4 good days and 4 really long sleepless nights but overall this trip to the beach was a quick getaway I much needed. The weather was decent, overcast mostly except for Thursday which was beautiful. Sunday showed some promise with sun and clouds. I took a bunch of pix along the boardwalk, at the pier, and around the house. Some turned out amazing thanks to David adjusting my camera settings. I captured a beautiful sunrise over the water through the morning grey clouds on Saturday. David in turn took the sickest pic of me about to catch a wave at the 1 Street Jetty while we were all surfing, super excited about that. This was the first trip I didn’t go stupid crazy shopping. I did however pick up a pair of “Vans x Suicidal Tendencies Eras” in RVA which totally ruled. As this post goes up I am spending my last few hrs here at the house, my flight is at 7:45am. Bummed out more than a little. It’s so hard to be 1300 miles away from home in a place with only the “true”, and know that the “love” just doesn’t give a shit. Time to suck it up and fly back to reality.
Some homes have a history, but few are as well-known or horrifying as the Amityville Horror House. Formerly listed as 112 Ocean Ave., this gorgeous Dutch Colonial was the site where Ronald DeFeo Jr. brutally killed six family members as they slept in 1974. Hauntings reported by later owners led to the bestselling 1977 book The Amityville Horror and the subsequent movie series. Features include a finished basement, large deck with views of the Amityville River, a renovated boat house, a central stereo system, and the chance for some supernatural houseguests. Sooooo cool but seriously, the fact that it’s going for $1.15 million is the real horror. Zing!
So long story short I am in love with Close Your Eyes. Since I got their CD “We Will Overcome” it has been non stop playing in my iPod and iTunes. I have been talking to Ashely at Victory about them a lot, and I am so stoked to announce that Truth Of A Liar will be an official sponsor of the band!! As I have stated many times before I always wanted to have my own limited shirt line, and well with 4 shirts out and a 5th on its way I have it. The other thing I always wanted was a tight ass band rocking my steez. Well fuck yea, now I have that too. I am soo fucking excited about this. You can check out the guys in the new “Family” section in the tabs above. This is a huge deal for me, and it is coming just days before my 1 year anniversary. What better way to start off year 2 then to sponsor a band I love. Boom!

Once again Markel and Elaine over at T.I.T.S. have hooked me up with a bunch of their new shirts. Nothing better than wearing a god quality shirt with a good quality half naked chick on it haha. I especially love the v-neck I got in the package. In honour of the World Cup, T.I.T.S. is dropping some WC inspired shirts. Head over to their site and check them out. Big thanks to everyone over at Two In The Shirt for the amazing hookup as always!
Ok in continuing to try and bring shit that is amazing, I give you this next post. J. Scott Campbell’s vision of Disney’s Princess is, well it’s amazing. I would watch the Disney movies again if the princess looked like that. Shit I might even do more than just watch them. Yea I said it. Check out more of his DP (gets it DP, Disney Princess) pictures here.
West West Y’all. So this video was sent to me from Eric Maubert a reader of the blog. So sick. Scraper bikes is quickly becoming a new fad. This video is both amazingly shot, and amazingly moving. I could get behind this.
I have been hurting pretty bad lately. Things suck, and when your struggling with certain areas in life that haunt you day and night they suck harder. So naturally when I got a call from my buddy Jason to go on a bike trip in Vermont for a day I jumped on the opportunity. Jason, Steve, Martin, Jake and I packed up the car light as the plan was simple, drive there and spend the day on our bikes near the lake. Something about being in the US makes me happy an sad. The smell of the air makes me feel closer, yet at the same time so much farther away. Anyways, one of the cool things about Vermont is the bike paths. The network of paths includes a total of 35 loops and tours ranging from 10 to 60 miles in length, in addition to the Champlain Bikeway, a 363-mile principal route around the entire Lake and along the Richelieu River to Chambly, Québec. Based on a rich array of natural, cultural, and historic themes, these loops meander along quiet back roads through extraordinary mountain, lake and countryside scenery. We stopped a few times to enjoy our surroundings and grab some noms. Jake took a few snaps of me while I wasn’t looking, clearly deep in thought which is kinda funny. Even a simple day getaway and my every thought goes back to her. After about 7hours on our whips and a gorgeous sunset over the lake we decided to headed home. All in all a great day.
The infamous Shaggy Show which are all filmed while the Insane Clown Posse are on tour is finally back! The show originally premiered on the internet in late 1999 and kept going all throughout the Wicked Clowns From Outer Space Tour. It gave fans an inside peek at the tour from back stage along with some, comedy sketches. All and all the show seemed very much a way to keep ICP entertained on the road along with their fans. Shaggy would always perform a good physical stunt or two on the show while Violent J flexed his comedic acting chops by developing a few oddball characters. Fan favorite characters like Florida Joe, your typical Floridian who loves the beach and his beer coozie (Greg’s favorite character?) and Moon Glorious, a shy quiet type with some overtly homosexual undertones all got their start on The Shaggy Show. ICP haven’t produced a new episode of The Shaggy Show since 2003 (the whole Sixth Jokers Card era), but it’s back and I’m sure there will be many more episodes coming as they tour and leading up and through this Summer’s Gathering of the Juggalos. I’m sure someone upped all the old episodes onto youtube, so if you want to catch up that would be the place to hit up/ ICP for whatever reason went and removed all of them their website(s). So kick back and enjoy or talk shit about it, whatever tickles your fancy.
