The list of things I don’t love from CXXVI is short. Very short. And not just cause my friend Matt Gorton is an owner. From the waist up, CXXVI made just about everything thing you needed for a day or night on the town and a quick recovery the morning after. My favs have always been the accessories as I have mentioned before. The only thing that was kind of scarce was a quality collection of fabric-based neckwear. Enter Stalward Ltd. Started by Matt, Stalward Ltd is all ties all the time. Matt handpicks the fabrics (many limited, short run or dead stock) and then each tie is handmade in the Windy City. Knotting one of these up won’t make you look as cool as the guy in the pictures, but you’ll look way better than you would wearing a tie from a department store. And yes, I know you probably don’t have to wear a tie daily, but that’s what makes it even more fun. Oh and to top it off, my homie Johnny Crap did the artwork that accompanies the packaging. Amazing!

Today I am posting a pic of myself and my good friend Willem. We are currently working on a project together that is near an dear to both our hearts, bikes. Bassi is a Montreal Bike company and over the last year has started to get a very good name for itself. While I have a taken over a creative role with the company, Willem is working behind the scenes on the dot com. Together at the end of this month we hope to launch big. This was us last night on both our Bassi bikes. The Tokyo-Roma frame is a track frame with slight modifications to it’s geometry to be more relevant to the streets. They added 2.5 cm clearance between the front tire and down tube to prevent contact when steering. The frame can accommodate 35mm tires, is made of cromoly 4130 alloy, and is triple butted for added strength. They are fitted with braze-ons for a leather shoulder strap under the top tube and seat tube. And last but not least come in 3 colours Yellow, Black, Red, and 3 sizes (measurements are from centre of the bottom bracket to the centre of the top tube) S 51cm, M 53cm, L 56cm. I am loving everything about this company and I cant wait to see more of you riding these frames. Over the course of just a few weeks away from 3 years I have been introduced to a lot of companies. Some dazzle me. Some don’t. With so many companies and so many products out there its hard to get a competitive edge, or stay “cool”. But this next brand is so simple they dont need to try a be cool, they just are. Field Notes Brand has been number 1 on my list since Jan 2011 when I met them at Project in NYC. A everyday must have stationary brand. I dont leave the house with out a notepad, it is in my essentials. If you dont know this brand get educated. They have limited edition note books. You can get monthly orders. Their shop is filled with all kinds of goodies. I highly recommend this brand. On a side note (pun intended), Evan if you want a few pads let me know I have an extra 3 pack.

Sure they smell good, but you just get the feeling that most of them come with a coupon for 50% a European facial. Well its not even June, or even close to being middle of the cycling season and I am onto my 2nd build. Again working with my friends at C&L Cycle I am about to build up another Italian machine. This time a Cinelli Vigorelli. It wont be as crazy as Bianchi build we did a few weeks back, but its gonna be a stunna regardless. Truly thankful to have some rad dudes and rad bike builders working with me this season. The attention and love you get with C&L while building a bike can’t be found elsewhere. Keep watch!

ADR Studio (aka Antonio De Rosa) presents the Instagram Socialmatic Camera concept, modeled after the Instagram icon (which itself was modeled after a Polaroid instant camera), that not only posts pictures to Instagram but prints them out directly from the camera — courtesy of the built-in ink-jet printer and paper tray — in much the same way a Polaroid would. The concept would also feature Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, optical zoom, 16GB of storage, a 4:3 touchscreen, two different lenses, a QR code reader and webcam functionality. The photos would print on sheets with a glue strip similar to a Post-it note, plus a QR code allowing Socialmatic users to follow the photographer on the photo-sharing network. The concept is a novel one, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we eventually see the Instagram Socialmatic Camera on KICKSTARTER. Check out more images on his site.
